American Heart Association

The American Heart Association’s (AHA) is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization devoted to building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. AHA is represented on the Cobb2020 Steering Committee by Mr. Mark Mooney, Director of Community Impact for AHA Metro-Atlanta and the State of Georgia. In addition to being a valuable Steering Committee member, Mr. Mooney is the Cobb2020 Healthy Lifestyles I-Team Chair, providing guidance and support to the three Healthy Lifestyles workgroups and acting as a link between the Steering Committee and these workgroups. He also often attends the workgroup meetings to participate in action plan development; not just as a Steering Committee member or the Healthy Lifestyles I-Team Chair, but as a passionate professional who truly cares about the health of Cobb County.

AHA’s annual Heart Walk* joins together nearly 1 million Americans at 305 events across the country to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, and it is coming to Marietta Square on November 3rd! In addition to their annual Heart Walks, AHA has a variety of health resources, including heart-healthy recipes, workplace wellness resources, and information on how to get involved with their Million Hearts Collaboration, an initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes in 5 years. Visit the Metro Atlanta AHA to learn more about their work in our area and find out how you can get involved. We deeply appreciate this loyal partner and are proud to work with such a devoted organization. On behalf of Cobb2020, thank you American Heart Association and Mr. Mark Mooney for all that you do!
