Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH) is set to open a new public health center on April 2, with the goal to expand access to public health services in the Smyrna area. The new Smyrna Public Health Center will open at 3001 South Cobb Drive, Smyrna, GA 30080 – boasting easier access to the location from public transportation with a CobbLinc bus stop just outside the building.
The new center will offer WIC services, and beginning May 1, will also allow for clients to access additional public health services such as family planning, immunizations, child health well checks, sexually transmitted infection (STI) services, and “Back to School” screenings.
“We are excited to expand access to quality care by offering more services closer to home for many Smyrna residents,” said Dr. Jack Kennedy, district health director of Cobb & Douglas Public Health.
The renovations for the Smyrna Public Health Center began in April 2017 by general contractor John W. Spratlin & Son Construction and it was designed by Pieper O’Brien Herr Architects. The building design and construction was paid for through 2016 Cobb County SPLOST project funds with a contract price of $2,081,765.
