Kennesaw State University (KSU), a leader in innovative teaching and learning, has 13 colleges on two metro Atlanta campuses. One of these 13 colleges, the WellStar College of Health and Human Services, was recently featured on CNN’s website for their new kinesthetic classroom. This kinesthetic classroom is equipped with chairs that wobble and desks that have pedals for striding, stepping or stationary biking. The idea behind the classroom, supported by an increasing amount of research, is that keeping the body active helps stimulate the mind and enhance learning. The classroom first opened to KSU students in fall 2017, and during the spring 2018 semester, the classroom was utilized by 10 different instructors. On behalf of Cobb2020, a big congratulations to Kennesaw State University on this incredible physical activity project!
